We stayed in late Feb.for three days. Had two rooms. Both very VERY clean and comfortable. The high light of our stay was the wonderful free breakfast each morning. The best hotel free breakfast we have ever had. Three kinds of eggs, bacon, sausage, fruit, juice all well prepared. Regardless how busy the containers were never empty. This is a great place to stay with family and do Universal.

We just finished a week vacation at the Grand Sirenis. We booked through BookVIP and I have to say that I'm extremely pleased with the entire trip, all the way from booking through the conclusion of the trip. We got a phenomenal deal and had an excellent trip!

"Great location for Universal"

"Good Value, Good Location"
I've fallen in 'like' lately with Holiday Inn Express. Usually a Hyatt man, I've needed to watch my dollars a little more carefully lately. Sleeping around at the various choices out there, I settled on Holiday Inn Express as my first 'go to'. I was not here for the Universal experience, and the hotel seems to serve far more of those clients than the casual traveler. Still it was clean, although she's a little worn out, comfortable and the kings suite I stayed in had plenty of room. The bathrooms are dated but clean, no excessive wear showing on the carpet and most of all, no noxious odor. The staff were outstanding, eager to help in any way and ensured the stay met expectations! The breakfast was a slight tick above average, 2 style of eggs, bacon, sausage, gravy and fat pills of several types. Utilitarian eating area but servicable. Ignore the pessimistic reviews here, you can always find something wrong, and, too, she is showing the wear of occupancy, but for the value and location she is an excellent to sleep with.
"It Was a Night Before Universal Hotel for us..."
Booking a Universal Package with Hard Rock Resort but I needed a night before place to stay and this worked out very well. Got in late and there were some quick food restaurants around and breakfast starts really early at this Express which is unusual for Saturday breakfast so I was pleased with that and it was very very good as these breakfasts go. It's a large place as I guess all hotels seem to need to be in Orlando. The room was fine, good enough, the bathroom only had a shower and was tiny but didn't care... all was clean, breakfast was good, rate was good... I was content.
"Oddly shaped though clean room, comfortable bed, great staff"
The room is an odd shape, but it's a fine size. No tub, though we didn't care. Large shower, however. Sliding door for WC / Shower, kind of weird, but it works. We got too much noise from the nearby ice machine and elevator (bing, bong) as well as the Wendy's drive-thru behind the hotel. Sometimes a really noisy car would pull in there and wait like 10 minutes for their order. Staff was terrific, very kind and accommodating to our request for a late checkout. For the latter you just have to be an IHG member, which is free. Outside pool was nice, lot of kids really enjoyed it. Not much landscaping to make it feel more relaxing vs. being next to the parking lot, but that was fine. Breakfast area is very busy indeed, and the food is fine. Plenty of hot as well as cold items, decent coffee, and room to sit. They also have pancake printers, which cracked us up.
"Excellent stay"
Just returned from a 2 night stay at the Holiday Inn Express near Universal Studios, Orlando. Fantastic hotel. The staff was so friendly & helpful. So close to Universal Studios and free shuttle makes it a breeze to leave your car at the hotel and enjoy your day and save money on parking. Free buffet breakfast was excellent, with plenty of choices. Eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes from a pancake machine were fantastic bagels, muffins, fresh fruit, cereal, oatmeal, toast, English muffins, biscuits with gravy. Hot and plenty to eat. Rooms were clean. Shower was super clean & with hot water. Temperature was easy to control with newer looking air conditioning. Pool is heated and was quite enjoyable. Can't say anything bad about our stay here. Glad I saved the money by not staying on property at universal. Plenty of restaurants nearby, within walking distance.
"Excellent service!"
Great Breakfast, service, staff, room, Elizabeth in sales helped my grandson Diego order a longboard and spent over an hour with us helping us since we did not know how to order it. The staff at this hotel is fantastic!!
"Great location for Universal Studios"
Older hotel but very comfortable. Staff very welcoming. Rooms not looking too tired. Great breakfast included. Can get free shuttle bus from here to the park and leave car at hotel for day (saves $20).
"A+ service"
My family and I stayed here over Valentine's weekend. There are five of us. Including two six year olds and a one year old. The only downside was that the room was very small, but we made it work. We needed a refrigerator in our room to keep the baby's milk and the hotel was very accommodating. Everyone that we encountered on the staff had excellent customer service. Would definitely recommend and stay again.
"Top Notch Customer Service and Great Location"
Stayed for 7 nights. Checked in early afternoon on Feb 2nd and the front desk employee really should be working at the Four Seasons. She provided excellent customer service and very friendly. I don't recall her name off hand but she wears glasses. Every day she would ask how my business/leisure trip was going and really made you feel at home during my stay. Even shook my hand and thanked me for staying at Holiday Inn Express when I checked in. I couldn't ask for anything more from this hotel or their employees. I have stayed at 5 star hotels for business before and this hotel provided that same level of Customer Service. The hotel location is fantastic and close to everything especially the Holy Land Experience which I highly recommend for every resident and visitor of Florida. The hotel breakfast was excellent along with a good assortment of food. Employees were very friendly and accommodating. My only recommendation is the hotel room's could use a renovation at some point as it is a bit dated with all the new hotels being built or opened in the last 5 years. For the price I paid via Last Minute Travel, I couldn't complain as I got 5 star service for a 3 start hotel.
"Great Breakfast"
I was staying here during a business trip. Very well kept hotel. Friendly staff and a nice little pool area. Breakfast was one of the best I have seen. Pancake maker, oatmeal, eggs, bacon, fresh fruit you name it. Lots of seating. The coffee was great too. Recommend the HIE.
"Friendly and relaxing"
The location is close to the universal park but the shuttle to and from the park is effortless and relaxing and the driver is awesome. The hotel is clean, the staff very friendly and accommodating,I had a special request and it was immediately addressed. The rooms are big, clean and welcoming. The breakfast was warm and good tasting ,a little bit of everything.I would definitely stay there again.
"WOW"Southern hospitality at its finest"
First off my kids wanted to stay near Universal so no problem location location location. ( we have Disney vacation clubs ) I booked this hotel because Holiday Inn has never let me or any of my family down. Great breakfast a plus , thank you . Every employee must go through a great training program they say hi and bye by name , yeah we were there for 7 nights. I'll stay here every time I'm in Orlando. Thank you Holiday Inn Express also our room was a very nice size and cleaner then any I've ever seen .
"BEST LOCATION"
This hotel has the best location in Orlando. Right across the street from the entrance and still has a shuttle service to Universal. The hotel is very nice and the included breakfast is very good. Definitely I would stay at this hotel again.
"Good value and very close to Universal Studios."
Clean and modern but rather small rooms (think cabin on a ship). Perfect for those visiting Universal Studios. 5 minutes from Millenia Mall and Pointe Orlando, 15 minutes from Amway Arena and 20 minutes from Florida Mall, all 4 very easy to get to. Breakfast buffet was pretty good, eggs, sausage, buscuits, cereal etc.. Check in was easy and there is plenty of free parking. Overall a pleasant stay; nothing stands out but nothing wrong with it either.
"Wonderful Stay"
My family stayed for 4 nights. We stayed her to visit Universal Studios. This has to be the quietest hotel. I know the first night that we were there, they were full. We didn't hear anyone in another room, no traffic noise. We didn't hear doors closing or even water being run in another room. The breakfast was outstanding. They never had anything run empty. It was a huge breakfast room. It also has free shuttle service to Universal. It was extremely easy and always on time. Just a wonderful time. If I had to say one negative, it would be that the sleeper sofa might need to be replaced. They were a little used as far as comfort.
"Good hotel!"
I stayed at the hotel for 14 nights with 10 teenagers! The hotel is close to Universal Studios which is a good point, there's also a Walgreens, Orlando Ale house nearby and a Wendy's Restaurant right next door! Breakfast was good, eggs, bacon, muffins, some fruit, pancakes, cinnamon rolls... The front desk people were very kind and willing to help!
"Incredible service and pleasant stay"
The people working in the breakfast area, reception and cleaning services are very pleasant and helpful.Always with a smile on their face it makes you welcome to ask for anything. No question is a bad question. The people in the promotion area are very helpful even when you need help with unrelated issues. The rooms are clean and so are the hallways.Location is close to all parks and to shopping malls. The best I liked the people in the breakfast area that smiled to you even when you were still eating after the area was supposed to close.
"Holiday Inn Express - Close to Universal"
We were going to Orlando & made package reservations via Orbitz. Got a nice, non-smoking King room with Holiday Inn. The hotel is very close to Universal, but you still need to drive or take the hotel shuttle to the park. Scored a top floor room, possibly because I am an IHG rewards member. Room was big, clean, and dark & quiet for sleeping. The hotel staff was very friendly and from check in to check out were great to deal with. There is another Holiday Inn Express a block or so closer to Universal ( but you'll still need to take a car or shuttle ), but that hotel did not get good reviews for their breakfast, which is at the connected TGIF restaurant and costs $10. This hotel had a free buffet breakfast which was actually pretty good for no cost. They had a couple pancake makers, eggs, toast, bacon, juice, pastries, cereal, basically everything you need to fill the family up for free. Sometimes very busy, but we could always find a seat. Some people came down for breakfast & just carried food back to their rooms. They have coffee available in the lobby 24/7, which was nice. Pool is heated, and we did not have any problems getting a lounge chair on the pool deck . . . .but that may be because it was about 60 degrees with a good breeze each day. All in all, would recommend this hotel.
"Great Stay!"
In the middle of everything Universal. You could almost walk to the parks - almost! Hampton rooms are standard and fairly small. The bathrooms are also small. Our room had an extra sink outside the bath area which was nice. Room was clean with plenty of outlets for a family of 4. Well lit parking lot. Really good above average breakfast with a lot of seating. Friendly staff. Nice option in the area and well priced.
