I have never been a Florida fan until this visit. St. Petersburg is awesome, artsy, beautiful and interesting. This hotel was great. It's own private little beach, ample dining, moderately priced, two gorgeous pools, a beach side bar (open till midnight) a small marina with excellent bird watching AND we saw a manatee! The rooms were very nice, clean and comfortable. The hotel is off on a side road, with condos at one end, so it's safe walking if you want to stretch your legs. You need a car to get to shops & museums, but the hotel staff is very nice, and helpful . Enjoy!

We just finished a week vacation at the Grand Sirenis. We booked through BookVIP and I have to say that I'm extremely pleased with the entire trip, all the way from booking through the conclusion of the trip. We got a phenomenal deal and had an excellent trip!

"Good Value & GREAT Views"
This was our 4th trip to Magnuson in 6 years. We first went there for our 30th Anniversary (2013) and asked for a 'room with a view' on the on-line reservation form. We were not disappointed! We got a room on the Point, where the rooms face either the bay or the marina. We have since requested rooms on the bay side and have always had what we requested. The rooms are what you would expect of a property of its age - good beds, somewhat dated bath (but still very functional), great housekeeping and great front desk staff. The small refrigerator is quite functional and works well.
"A Delight!"

"Such a pleasant experience"
Family came to the St.Pete area for the Shriners East-West Game at Tropicana Field. We were also celebrating my Father-in-law's birthday. The rooms were comfortable, and roomy. The amenities were top-notch and numerous. The staff were accommodating, and caring. They took incredible care of us. I definitely will be staying there again.
"Many Thanks to Entire Staff"
Due to being misplaced due a hose fire on Jan 13, 2018 we were in a bad way. Magnuson Hotel readily accepted our vouchers from the Red Cross and put us up at the hotel. They accepted our dog as well. Everyone was so nice and accommodating to us during our entire stay. Jeremy prepared a beautiful meal for us on our first evening there and the manager I believe her name was Christine (pretty blond who hails from Wisconsin ) could not have been nicer to us. It sure made a traumatic situation a lot better for us and we will never, ever forget our experience at the Hotel. We want to thank the staff from the bottom of our hearts. The Magnuson Hotel is an amazing place and the staff is what makes it so great. Thanks again.
"BOOK IT! YOU'LL LOVE IT!"
The front is reminiscent of a 50's motel. The Bay side is like Cancun. My wife and I first stumbled upon the Cove for 1 night before heading off on our vacation. We ended up cutting other activities short so we could spend a few more days here. That was 5 years ago and we've been back every year since and they always give us the same room on the Point. Staff is very pleasant. Same family has owned it for 60+ years. Their meals are almost gourmet, Salmon and Halibut were hot, moist and flaky. Breakfast is always hearty and relaxing looking out on the harbor. Grounds are beautifully maintained. Two pools, one heated. You'll enjoy sitting at the Napa Hut/Tiki Bar sipping a beverage and watching the Cruise ships leave the Bay as Dolphins (maybe 30' away) slide by. And we already have next year booked!
"Resort Retreat"
Well for starters this has only been the second Resort My wife and I have ever visited. The setting was beautiful, overlooking the gorgeous gulf intercoastal waterway. The was an awesome tree top bar, and restaurant on premises. There are two pools one heated the other not, and hot tub were just right. The rooms were spacious and quite. The morning sunrise peeking into the back sliding glass door was an amazing site. Not to mention the hotel has its own docks where we were able to catch a glimpes of a family of Manatee and a couple of Dolphins. Over all the best trip ever.
"Fall at the Magnuson"
This was our second Fall extended stay at Magnuson. The room was clean, the staff are friendly and the location is great. The heated pool is our favorite including the view. The restaurant and snack bar are both great to have right on location. The resort is also close to Publix, CVS, other eateries, 275 and Eckerd College where our daughter attends. The price is very reasonable for spending time in this tropical area. We will return.
"Hotel Manager, Steve, Saved the Day after Hurricane Irma!"
As a local resident in the Pinellas Point area we are very familiar with the Magnuson Hotel as many family and friends have stayed there over the years. It used to be called the "Sheraton" years ago and many of the locals joined their pool club because of the gorgeous pools and meticulous kept grounds. But this review is not about a vacation visit, but their providing a "port in the storm." I mean that literally too! I want to publicly THANK Steve, and his entire staff, who moved mountains to find accommodations for my elderly mother who lost power after hurricane Irma. Although the hotel was completely full he found space for her which shows his dedication to customer service as well as watching out for his neighbors! I learned he and his staff worked very long hours before, during and after the storm to try and maintain as much normalcy for the guests who were already stressed out from fleeing hotel after hotel to get away from the storm as evacuation orders progressed. Steve went above and beyond in listening to what the pressing issues were and provided leadership in getting the job done. Most importantly, he empowered his staff to problem solve which streamlines future complaints. I know they were short staffed during the week of 9/10/17-9/15/17, but I want them to know their attention to detail did not go unnoticed and I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to feel at "home." You Rock Steve!
"Fishing tournament"
This was a very nice place to stay especially after our hurricane Irma. The room was very large very clean large bathroom and the staff was great everyone was helpful the pools were clean and there were two would recommend
"Little gem"
Very friendly helpful staff. Clean rooms with great AC. Maid service was fantastic. There is little to no beach and occasionally a very bad sewage smell from the Bay. There are two pools, both kept exceptionally clean by very attentive staff members . There is a play area for children also. We ate dinner in the Periscope... Food was amazing and large portions. Only negative is hotel is not close to any other restaurants, if you don't have your own vehicle. We used Uber numerous times and had no issues. I would recommend this gem, if you just want to relax by the pool and enjoy the weather
"The West, Dennis, Colson Reunion"
The Sales Associate and Staff at the Magnuson are by far the most helpful staff I've had the pleasure to work with. This 2017 year was my first time planning my families reunion, this was the first time they had all been to St. Petersburg. My uncle lost his cell phone and the staff took it to the front desk, they were also gracious enough to pass along hand made pouches to the members of my family that showed up late, the hotel and staff made such a great impression that all of my want to come back, just to stay at the Hotel. The rooms were awesome and hotel was equipped with everything to keep my entire family occupied. Thank you Courtney for making this photo happen. I can't wait for my next Magnuson experience
"Great family hotel"
We loved this hotel and wished we could have stayed longer than 1 night to enjoy the facilities. The rooms were a good size in a relaxed beach style and sliding doors that opened out to look out onto the water. There was no free breakfast included but the menu looked reasonably priced. We didn't eat there. The pool area was lovely and big and looked out over the water. There was a second, smaller pool but we didn't have time to use it. There didn't seem to be much around the area however so we had to get into the car to find somewhere to eat (other than the restaurant at the hotel). I'd recommend this hotel to families with kids as they would love the pool area.
"Birthday Party weekend"
We had a Birthday party weekend with over 125 people attending. The entire weekend went very smooth even with the rain. The hotel staff were very happy, helpful and just fun to work with on this event. The rooms and grounds were clean. The view of Tampa Bay was awesome!. I recommend if you just want to get away for the weekend to consider this hotel as you feel like you are away from the world. Thank you gain to Christine, Mark, Natalie, Sarah and all of the staff that had fun with the Parrotheads.
"Every time we stay here the folks are always great the facility is clean and it makes for an awesome stay..."
My Wife and I have been traveling all around this great blue marble for many years and have stayed in many hotels and this is one of the best places to stay...They are always awesome when we stay here...the facility is clean, the people are great, the restaurant and beach Cabana are awesome, the gift shop is well stocked and the Pools are clean and fun...Its real close to the downtown Theaters,..and this is very important to us because we hold Platinum memberships and always love to see the shows... we really want to stress how amazing the staff has always been to us...To many great folks to mention but we enjoy and respect them all...Great job to all of them...
"Great place for the family"
We have two daughters and they feel right at home. With the two pools, hot tub, private beach , and playground, what else could you ask for. We park our boat and enjoy the great food that is served at the hotel . The kids rooms , make it enjoyable to have separate rooms. The staff is always on hand , ready to help any way possible. Then at night walk by the boats and sometimes see the dolphins that come in to eat, and enjoy all the wildlife. Great place for families.
"What a magnificent place to stay!!"
I was so incredibly impressed with this hotel. Although the rooms are not what I'm usually accustomed to I found them comfortable and inviting. The grounds were spectacular with 2 beautiful pools, a private mini beach and tiki bar all in site. There is also an indoor restaurant and bar. I cannot say enough about the friendliness of the staff. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others and would certainly stay there again. Jennifer and Eric at the front desk took great care of me.
"I need to stay longer..."
This was a one-night business trip and I was lucky enough to get a room at Magnuson. The grounds are beautiful, the staff is really friendly, the food at the restaurant was great, my room was comfortable and had a fantastic view of the water...can you tell I liked it?
"Bluster on the bay Regatta"
The Magnuson, an awesome host for our sailing regatta. Staff was super accommodating for our trailers, boats & people. Rooms extremely clean, showers hot w/ tons of pressure, restaurant food very good.
"Christmas at the bay"
Stayed here over Christmas 2016. Very clean hotel with friendly staff. Nice tiki bar and a small Sandy beach on Tampa bay. Because the prevalent winds blow all kinds of trash off the bay in this direction, there is a slight odor. However, the hotel still has a daily routine to keep the beach Sandy white. The restaurant is only average so be prepared to drive a few miles to good restaurants.
