"Charming, Intimate Resort on the Beach"
We have been visiting San Jose del Cabo since 1992. In 2006 we purchased a fractional interest in a two-bedroom apartment on the Costa Azul Beach. Two years ago the Bel Air Collection purchased the resort from Playa del Sol. Initially we were unsure about the change in ownership. Now we can say unequivocally that we are thrilled with Bel Air! We feel like we are coming home when we arrive. We recently retruned from a two week visit feeling relaxed, well cared for and refreshed. The new management including the entire staff trested us as though we were family. Everyone was very welcoming and attentive. Bel Air has made wonderful changes to furnishings throughout the resort adding simple yet elegant changes to the decor. We are feeling the best about our investment since we first fell in love with the resort's location and size, now that Bel Air has taken over.
"three years and we have not been disappointed"
Once again, we enjoyed a great stay at the Krystal Grand Los Cabos. Each year, they add more to the property. The restaurant is open for all meals and has a very good menu. The hot tubs were operational. We always enjoy the friendliness of the staff - Rene, Abraham, Victor, Aaron and all of the staff are great and work hard to provide a wonderful experience. The main buildings have been painted orange and red. It seems odd, but they look quite nice against the beach surroundings. It is an improvement over the boring cream. It adds a nice contrast.
"Quiet Resort.....Just what we needed!"
My sister's and I recently visited San Jose Del Cabo and stayed at the Krystal Grand Los Cabos. I had stayed here last year with my husband and son for two weeks and loved the resort.
I decided to go back there with my 3 sister's to celebrate my up coming birthday. From the moment we arrived we were totally looked after. Rene' the front desk manager helped us tremendously as one of my sister's luggage didn't arrive. It took two days to track her luggage down with the help of Rene' and Aaron. I can't thank them enough for all their hard work!
Our room was so beautiful, on the 5th floor, the view, spectacular! We could sit on the balcony and watch the whales and ray's swimming and jumping. We loved the 5:00 Champagne and laying on the beautiful stretch of beach drinking margarita's and buying silver earrings and bracelets from the vendors. The resort is quiet and relaxing. No Spring brake partying here...just perfect :-) Thank you to all the staff at the Krystal Grand Los Cabos for making our trip one we will never forget! Rene' you deserve a raise! Aaron, you too! Thanks for all your help!! Hope to see you all again soon!
"Bel Air Cabos "Exceeds Expectations""
My wife and I arrived March 9, 2013. We were celebrating two occassions:
1) Aniversary
2) Once again coming back to Cabo
Let me say this about Bel Air Cabos;
* Staff: Jose, Dulce, Aaron, Alfredo and Luis - it just goes on. This team of truly client service and sincere romantic hearts are examples of the BEST of Mexico.
* Food: Breakfast Lunch and Dinner - the Chef here has it all, portion, excellent quality and presentation down. Excellent and thanks.
* Spa Services: We had massages at the same time, the two ladies did a fantastic job.
We look forward to returning as often as we can.
"Hotel Bel Air Los Cabos"
Loved the four poster beds on the beach. The facility was clean and the staff very friendly. The rooms were small but adequate. A sweet was placed in the room every night. Happy hour was very nice and the fire pit was a nice gathering place. Met some lovely people at this resort.
"Another great experience"
We returned to Bel Air for the second year in a row. We had a wonderful time, again. Just a welcoming and warm stay. The concierge, Aaron, and the front desk employee, Charly, both remembered us from last year, which is pretty amazing. Housekeeping services are perfect. Hotel is SO peaceful, and we fell asleep to the sounds of crashing....thunderous.waves. We woke each morning in time for the sunrise and enjoyed complimentary coffee and pastry. We took advantage of two for one happy hours, and walked to other locations for meals. We couldn't be happier with the accommodations and service!
"What's not to like?"
Just returned from a week at the resort with my husband. We loved it. Great place to unwind and relax. There is a very walkable beach (soft sand) and it is about 4 miles into the town (we walked that once too). Our ocean view room was lovely. I could stare at the ocean for hours. The beach, pool and grounds are kept up nicely. The staff was top notch. Everyone was very helpful and friendly. Check in took minutes. Our room was spotlessly clean. The woman, (Judi) who cleaned the room was the best. Always a smile and a friendly word. We had a special meal cooked for us and friends from a fish my husband caught. Lovely presentation and it was delicious. It was a nice ending to a great trip.
"Wow!"
Can't wait to go back!!!!
5 of 5 starsReviewed July 16, What an amazing gem of a hotel. Located in quiet San Jose Del Cabo right on the beach, this "new" resort was exactly what we were looking for. The rooms were reasonably priced and our "suite" overlooked the ocean. Beware "suite" at this resort does not mean 2 rooms like many other hotels. Rather, it is a large room containing a king size bed, couch, table, and full size kitchen. It had recently been renovated so everything was immaculately new and clean, from beautiful marble floors, to planatation full length floor to ceiling shutters to close out the morning sun. Super comfortable beds and high end finishings all around. My husband and I were able to get 2 connecting rooms for additional space which the hotel staff Virginia and hotel manager Carlos graciously offered us free of charge due to our misunderstanding of the "suite" booking on Expedia. The staff was super friendly and helpful yet unobstrusive. The pools were beautiful and never over-crowded like we've experienced at more popular resorts. You could always find a comfortable lounge chair without difficulty any time of the day. They also had cabanas right on the beach. The resturant was good yet somewhat pricey. My husband and I made a few trips to the local Mega store to stock up our fridge for breakfast and lunch meals to save money. It's only 5 minutes from the resort. Despite all the bad things you may ha ve heard about Mexico lately, San Jose Del Cabo did not fit that profile in the least. We took many road trips searching for surf on both sides of the coast without any problems. Also, if you like to surf, there's great long and short board breaks (Old Man's in front of the Cabo Surf hotel) and Middles and Zippers (short board wav es) the next 2 breaks down. The best place to rent surfboards is at Cabo Azul Surf shop which rent awesome boards shaped by a local shaper named Oleas. The boards rocked and were a great deal at $15/day if you rent it for the week. These all were located only 5 minutes by car away from the Bel Air. All in all, we had a fabulous trip and are planning to return next summer with our 2 daughters. Thank you so much Bel Air staff for a wonderful and relaxing vacation. We can't wait to come back!
"Amazing! Wish we never had to leave...."
My husband and I reserved a 'getaway' Krystal Grand Los Cabos during the last week of May and absolutely loved it. The staff was very professional and exceptionally friendly, especially Rene at the front desk. We had a tough time leaving the airport because of all the timeshare folks trying to get us to book tours. It was wonderful arriving at the quiet/peaceful resort and being greeted with smiles and glasses of champagne. Rene took our bags and helped us get situated in our room. The place was amazing... we were right on the water, all furniture and appliances appeared newish, and it was exceptionally clean.
We took advantage of the happy hour drink specials and ate lunch and dinner on the property. At no time were we ever disappointed with the food or service. Make sure to visit the nearby restaurants, Mi Ensalada and Sardina Cantina. Also about 15 minutes away walking is a very large market called Mega. There is no need to rent a car in my opinion... the buses are very convenient and will take you back and forth to Cabo San Lucas for just a couple bucks. We asked the folks at Bel Air and they were more than happy to advise us on how to get around!
"Perfect trip!!-surf sounds melt your heart"
This place (formerly Playa del Sol) is SO BEAUTIFUL!! so close to the beach, so sweet and the staff wonderful! We went to several Time Share presentations and the places were all fancy and great... but it was always a breathe of fresh air to return to our room which was only 70feet from the surf.. we fell asleep each nite to peace and surf.. no crazy music or wild times. just quality service, beauty and a wonderful feeling. You felt like family and th staff really make you feel right at home, better than home ! Virgenia, Victor to name a few .. I hve traveled to many places and I will always remember this one
"Nice Resort"
My husband and I stayed at the Krystal Grand Los Cabosand Spa the week of April 17, 2011. This is a small but charming resort right on the beach. We stayed in the New Building (which I recommend) and our room was Gorgeous, it was spacious and clean and had a beautiful view of the ocean. The resort has two pools and a Nice Beach with umbrellas and chairs. It has one restaurant on the property and it is nice. The resort offered Free Early morning Continental Breakfast--a nice touch... and Free Afternoon Tea Time with cold or hot tea, champagne and a dessert cookies or cake--again a nice touch...
There is also a store near the resort called Mega that has everything you may need. This was our first visit to Los Cabos and we like it alot. Some of the staff at the resort; Diego, Arturo and Renee are awesome, they helped make our stay in Los Cabos Great!
The concierge set up a tour for us, we did the Los Cabos San Lucas and San Jose tour with lunch. We enjoyed this tour, it showed us alot of the area and things we went back to and the lunch was good, we enjoyed talking with people on the tour from different parts of the world. At the resort their are Taxis there to take you where every you may want to go, they also have rental options. We used Cabos San Lucas Tour Airport Transfers from the airport to the resort the cost was $11.00 per person this worked out great for us, we used a taxi from the resort to the airport the cost was $15.00 per person this worked out great as well. Krystal Grand Los Cabos and Spa is a Nice and Quite Resort, we plan to return to Los Cabos in the near future.
"Loved it :] we'll be back."
From the moment we set foot in this resort we were treated with manners I could only dream of having in the states. We were offered champagne immediately and they informed us though we were 4 hours early for check in our room would be ready in 30 minutes. After we got setteled in our cossy loft suite we explored the resort.
The Location: right on the beach, you have full access to beds and chairs on the beach and a beautiful view of the sea. It was only a 30 minute drive to down town Cabo. The scenery was gorgeous, the zen garden peaceful, and the greenery lush.
The Service: wether it was our bell boy helping with luggage, front desk answering questions, or wait staff serving us, everyone was extremely kind and professional.
The Food: PERFECT
The Activity: The infinity pool is awesome, the bars and restraunts peaceful and calm, and I personally loved tea time with complimentary snacks at sunset corner.
The only bad things I can think of is that there was only one person working for massages however they tried to get a second one and even recommended a near by spa.
It was relaxing, fun, beautiful, easy, and CHEAP!!
Big shout out to Rene and Victor. Awesome workers. We lobed it here and can't wait to come back.
